  4. Hi everyone, just got my dream car after wanting one since I was 11, 20 years later and I’ve got one, Subaru WRX STI, amazing car, so I’ve just joined up on here with other like minded people, good to be part of this group and hope to get to some meets with you all.
  5. Last week
  6. I've got the fuse cubby pocket, Just let me know what you need and I can send it over to you. Obviously you can pay postage 😉 Andy.
  7. That’ll be a visit to Lincolnshire then on the way to Cadwell 😂😂
  8. I totally forgot to reply sorry Lockheed!, my original plan was to get ready for such events, I'm just not getting the time to finish the fozzy and get it MOTd, nearly there tho! I will defo catch up with some of you guys. Last meeting I went to was 2007! Cheers Andy!, I'm toying with replacing wings, but then ive defo got to get a full respray, rear arches have slight bubbles, and its been hit on near side rear quarter, bumper mainly and just rippled the body above bumper, Not terrible. Its been well used, I'm replacing everything I know that will show up on MOT, brakes are sorted now as they were shocking, nsf driveshaft was shot, tidying Her up inside now, needs good shampoo and general hoover, just fitted standard head unit. I'm missing the fuse cubby hole cover by right knee, other than that pretty sorted. Got to book her in for new windscreen and book mot and cross me fingers😁 I bet your STi flies!!, proper wolf in sheep's clothing those fozzys, my Speedo is out ... 25 on clock is 21 on GPS, something else to sort
  9. Hi bud and yup Fozzies are great and glad to see you're keeping a Gen1 classic foz on the road. I've had a my99 which still sits in the garden and I use it as a shed for bits n pieces as she's worse for wear and I've had a face-lift my01 which I too spent thousands on in the same colour as yours. I'm now running a my04 FSTi which is my daily and wouldn't chose any other model other than a foz. It's just such a family sleeper not to mention what you can transport in them. Oh and if you're after any bits then give me a shout before you go spending loads on fleabay. The my99 is still 75% whole. Andy.
  10. For winter wheels that might only be on 4-5 months max,, when its dark more hours than its daylight, ( so no- one sees them much) and roads are mucky and salty so the wheels arent often clean, a second hand set from gumtree or breakers might be adequate for you?? Sorry cant advise on size. Mark Harris summed it up nicely a while ago on the forum when different winter tyre brands were suggested by different people, I think i can paraphrase the jist of it as something like: "once youve driven on snow or ice on proper winter tyres, theres no comparison to summer tyres", message being that any decent full winter tyre is totally different to summer tyres on snow, and the particular brand isnt that important? Havng said that, I would personally recommend a block type pattern rather than the chevron type tread pattern, I found Nokian WRA3 ( now superceded by WRA4) excellent, Bridgestone Blizzak's also have a good reputation. Avoid Micheln Alpin's. Good choice and prices at mytyres.co.uk but are typically delivered in a week or so from Germany.
  11. Hi all, does anyone know what wheel sizes I can get away with on my WRX-S hatch was thinking of getting a spare set for winter also does anyone know where’s best place to get alloys and what winter tyres are best many thanks karl
  12. Cheers Andy, the Forester is an N/A, as is our Impreza GX, so a crossports would be first venture into turbo ownership. the front pipe to cat flange joints are known to rot on N/As but hoping the tester was just being cautious and it will last a few years Just live in Scotland a few days a month plus a few weeks a year really, just a part timer. cheers, Colin.
  13. Cheers, good to know alloy arms from a breakers will fit the forester if it needs them. Would have been a cheaper option for the Impreza though. Impreza sorted a few weeks back: Got the new steel arms from Rock Auto in the US. Ordered on a Monday morning and arrived less than 48 hours later on the Weds morning by Fedex from Denver, via Indianapolis and Stanstead! fully waxed inside and out before fitting. The new arms have a big round drain hole on the bottom of the "side arm" compared to the originals. And trusted local garage fitted them (without needing to remove the U cradle ), Ithought it very reasonable two and a half hours labour including 4 wheel laser alignment for 186pound. New arm bolts etc from Subaru dealer was another 40 odd quid but I still got the SIDC discount.👍
  14. Hey Tony I don't know if this'll help but I fitted newage alloy arms from a my02 WRX on my99 S turbo a few years back and they were sweet, as the same thing happened to the steel arms on that. I had to get the bottom ball joints and the cones they sit in as well though. Good luck if you've not already done something about it. Oh and swapped out the droplinks for the newage ones too.
  15. Cheers pal. Good to hear your my03 is still being kept on the "salty roads" and if you live in Scotland then I think you should add yourself. I've been meaning to give mine another waxoil before the winter approaches but with work and sh1te weather it's not looking promising. When you say rusty front pipe to cat; is that the second pipe from down pipe to middle cat? There's a few different options on exhausts ay? I'm all in favour of old skool bud so you've got my vote on known reliability other than gimmicky technologies that are just another thing to go wrong. I've found it fairly easy to either find replacements from UK cars to match up with my import or to modify them to fit. There's always Don to point us in the right direction 😉 Thanks for the warm welcome and all the best to you too sir! Andy.
  16. the car runs on meth/water injection . its injected via high speed valve and injector before the throttle body by way of an ultra fine mist . the valve and the pump is deployed when criteria are met 45% throttle , high ait or @4500rpm . this creates 116ron so timing can be advanced with out detonation
  17. Had it mapped at Abbey Motor sport ! only because they are quite clever with the LinkG4+ ecu I have .
  18. Earlier
  19. Sounds like a challenge to me …… Tony
  20. 127.5% error in max speed is a bit more than eu regs allow! But 900 feet is still deeper than the North Sea unless you go bit more then 25 mile plus out, East of the Farne Deeps up ( a bit north of ) here and you would have needed a funny gas for you and the scooby to breath.
  21. Nice day will be along soon, dont risk it in the rain
  22. Yeah whatever, hahaha, she snuggling in the garage 🤪🤪
  23. the channel tunnel is only 250ft below sea level so im thinking its gash …… however it has had the desired effect with regards to getting people talking! But I do however feel the car is capable of 170mph and where did the alpine pluck 217mph from?
  24. Maybe you mean 34 mph driving speed isnt possible? Sorry Im not that quick, hence a few attempts?
