Imy, apologies, I've just noticed where you are :brickwall: :)

Maybe you could send your goodies to whoever organises the treat and they can present it on your behalf.

Thanks again for your very generous offer.

Gerry

lol no worries

Hi Gerry,

I'm happy to take the reins on behalf of the club - would probably say the 16/17 July is likely to be better and allow us more time to organise things.

PM en route :)

Cheers,

Stu

We will be more then happy to come along and meet on route we are leaving from Plymouth : )

Hi Everyone, This looks like a it's becoming the proverbial Christmas & Birthday rolled into one of a lifetime.

Jane popped in earlier and said that the young lad's mum was 100% keen and (I keep using this word) overwhelmed by the thought and is 100% up for it. Not a word will be uttered to the young Jedi until the day so he gets the full effect. I was just a little out on the age thing though and I stand corrected that he is 7 or 8 rather than 10.

Mum will be contacting Stu, if she hasn't already and the pair can liaise away.

Not much more for me to do but sit back and watch the progress of the thread and wait for the reports and pix to be posted :)

Good luck and enjoy :)

I'll speak to the parents and see what their thoughts are about dates/numbers and post up once it's been confirmed.

Regardless of the outcome I'll be heading down from Uffculme/Cullompton rather than one big run down from Oxford so I guess the services just off the M5 would be as good a starting point or a convoy as any! ;)

I am coming from Paignton so probs Exeter services are better for me.

i will be up for the convoy down, exeter services sounds good all tho i will be going back on my self a bit lol unless we can decide on the best place for every one to convoy down too

Stu,

Joe flies out to Borneo on the 16th VERY early in the morning so I'm going to be pretty pooped (got to be at the school at 3.30AM for bag checks and then onto Heathrow) but I would like to take part in this if possible - can you let me know details once confirmed and I'll see if I can fit some sleep in between?

Cheers mate

I'm working on the details at the mo but the confirmed arrival time is 11:00am Sunday 17th July.

I will be posting up meet points, convoy times and some more specific info this evening but having spoken to the parents last night the above time/date is when they're expecting us.

It's a residential address we'll be arriving at so I'm looking at somewhere can can meet/regroup locally before we drive down to the house.

Rob, that would be fantastic! Feel free to join us!

Where about near Oxford by the way? I'm in Witney and we've a few local members in Carterton and Oxford centre... Or have I asked you that one already?!? ;)

hmm do we need flags for the cars too? Depending on how many cars do we need to inform local plods along the route so they know what we are doing and do not get lively with us? Maybe one of the forces would have a Scoob pursuit car to escort us part of the way?

Spoke to the local constabulary this morning as a courtesy and I'm expecting a call back from them.

I'm speaking to the Committee about the club sourcing some window stickers for those attending :)

I'm be a bit optomistic but I'll be putting an absolute max of 30 cars so I'll get a list together with all the details anyone's likely to need this evening when I get home from work...

...then we can all go hell for leather spreading the word and getting this convoy together eh! :headbang:
