SIDC returns to Kames on Saturday 25th June for it's first visit in 2011.

Kames is a short sprint circuit and cars run one at a time for four laps (out, 2 flyers and an in). We also run in either direction, the choice is yours! Kames is much easier on your car than a full race circuit and the pace is decided by you. For any info related to Kames please visit the EACC website.

The event is open to drivers of all makes and models of car. There is no charge for passengers (front seat only). The event is open to both SIDC members and non-members (by purchasing the correct slot(s)). Please supply full details of your car when booking (make/model/registration number & colour). PLEASE NOTE - ALL DRIVERS REQUIRE TO JOIN EACC FOR INSURANCE PURPOSES - £20 PAYABLE ON THE DAY (ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP)

Drivers should arrive at the circuit no later than 9am (for AM bookings and all day bookings) or 1pm (for PM only bookings) for registration and mandatory drivers briefing. If you wish to run all day, please be sure to buy both an AM and PM slot.

Some conditions apply: car must be to a good, safe standard and no fluid leaks. Helmets and belts to be worn on track, you may carry one passenger when on track (helmeted). Driver must be a member of EACC as above. There will be a morning and afternoon session with a short break for lunch. The first session is 930am until 1pm, the second being 130pm until 5pm. The cafe will be open from 10am.

There are a limited number of slots AM/PM to allow fair running time to the participants, you can have either or both if you prefer! Cost is £21.50 per session for SIDC members and £26.50 non-member. There is a slight increase in cost this year with the VAT change. Don't delay folks, get your tickets before they all go. Please click here for link to the SIDC Shop

A list of participants will appear here and be updated as slots are sold, no need to copy and paste the list, we'll do it for you once paid.

Feel free to discuss the event in this thread, any questions then just ask.

See you at Kames :driving:

11 votes for a Saturday in the poll I held before arranging this and only 6 people booked in so far?? :brickwall:

Come on, get yourself booked in folks! :boldblue:

On another note. For those attending the Nurburgring trip in September, we thought it would be a good idea to put some names to faces for those who haven't yet met! If you can make it, please pop along, or better still, book yourself a slot and get on the track too ;)

Just tried to book a PM slot, but showing none available for members.
For the non-member booking they are still available.

Is this correct?

David - the slots will have been split up between member and non-member in the shop to avoid them being oversold. Drop Kim an email or PM and she'll swap some around for you :)

Hi all, not been to a track day with the club for a few years now, but have enjoyed a few days at Knockhill over the years with you guys.
I've booked a non-member spot at the up an coming Kames meet, pm, and I hope to be testing a new smartphone (android) application I have been developing over the past few months.

Here are a couple of videos created using the app, ALapRecorderHD.

There is some video stutter in this one :(

As you can probably work out, the app records video footage along with gps data (from 5/10hz external or internal gps), g force data, and ecu data, sped, rpm, throttle pos etc (from obd interface), and lets you replay the video/data overlayed, calculates lap times, and tons other stuff.

I will be using the afternoon to record some final test video and data logging prior to releasing the first non-beta version of the app.

I'd be grateful if anyone attending could help me record some data and comment on the app (an early beta can be found on the android market if anyone's got an android phone wants to give it a try).

Thanks guys...

Tony :)

Plenty folk will be there who have been before, there's plenty time to build up as the time progresses. Don't panic bud, it's not hard :driving:

Looking for some help Baz with the lines and braking, i have seen the circuit and its tight and twisty and a great place to learn about braking points, suppose it is just my work side coming out looking for a coach/instructor, trying to learn as much as i can before i check into rally school down South later this year.
Cheers

It's just like driving a twisty road but with the added benefit of being a closed track. It only take a fast car approx 45 secs to complete a lap, you are never out of sight, losts of pax laps with all the cars available with plenty people driven before. You are also the only car on the track so negates the need to worry about other faster cars overtaking you.
John for our type of cars it's by far one of the best tracks.

Graeme, keep yer hair on, some of us have jobs you know ;)

John, ignore Del boy - it may take him 45secs per lap driving the hatch. Good cars are in the low 30s or high 20s!
